Sugar Delivers Sweet Success For BBC

Sir Alan Sugar The return of Alan Sugar’s business talent show The Apprentice to BBC Two last night saw an impressive 3.5 million adult viewers tune in on average, underpinning BBC One’s victorious outing with Crimewatch UK.

The police appeal show, airing at the same time as The Apprentice, drew 4.6 million on average, with both BBC stations topping the performance of ITV1’s film, American Pie 2, watched by an average of 3 million.

Channel 4’s Brat Camp continued its strong performance, meanwhile, drawing an average adult audience of 2.3 million, following the broadcaster’s earlier airing of Relocation Relocation, which drew 3.3 million on average.

Five’s film, The Rookie, provided the broadcaster’s largest adult audience of the evening, as 1.4 million tuned in on average to see an ageing Clint Eastwood star in the police thriller.
