Taggart No Match For Waking The Dead

Waking The Dead ITV1 saw the return of Taggart last night, although it was beaten in the 9pm ratings battle by Waking The Dead.

The Scottish cop drama had a peak of 4.8 million adult viewers, a 21% share of the audience, while Waking The Dead picked up a peak of 6.2 million.

Taggart, which celebrates is 25th anniversary this year, had an average of 4.5 million adults (a 19.8% share) throughout its hour long running time.

On BBC Two at 9pm was documentary series Am I Normal?, which looked at people who go to great lengths to change the way they look.

The programme had a peak audience of 1.5 million adults.

Over on Channel 4 at the same time was a Time Team Special, with Tony Robinson and the gang digging around Liverpool for some insights into the past. The show had a peak audience of 2.3 million adults.
