TalkSPORT To Launch Digital Magazine This Summer

Talksport Logo TalkSPORT is reported to be preparing the launch of a digital magazine in the summer.

The online-only magazine will be delivered to subscribers’ inboxes once a week and is headed by the former publisher of Monkey (see James Mallinson Leaves Monkey), James Mallinson, reports MediaWeek.

A dedicated sales team led by TalkSport sales director Adam Bullock is being assigned to the magazine.

Bill Borrows, sports editor of Esquire magazine, will take up the position of editor on a freelance basis, said the report, with the existing TalkSport sponsorship and promotions team handling any promotions for the magazine.

Readers will have the choice of either signing up for delivery of the magazine by e-mail or accessing it through the TalkSport homepage.

The product will be available in high definition to enhance the quality of its entertainment news pages, which will have video trailers embedded in them, said the report.

The latest RAJAR figures, for the first quarter of 2008, show that nationally, TalkSPORT had a weekly reach of nearly 2.5 million listeners, following a year on year increase of around 5.5% (see BBC Radio 2 Sees Weekly Reach Increase).
