Telegraph Appoints New Head Of Classified Advertising

Alex Foster Telegraph Group Limited has announced the appointment of Alex Foster as the Group’s new head of classified advertising, leaving The Guardian after 11 years.

Commenting on the position, Dave King, executive director of the Telegraph Group said: “She’s a fantastic addition to the new team and will bring a wealth of experience coupled with fresh thinking and masses of energy to maximise the potential of this market.”

Alex added: “After 11 fantastic years at The Guardian, I am thrilled to be joining the Telegraph Group. The prospect of working for a company committed to driving change and developing its portfolio is incredibly exciting. I am looking forward to working with the whole team as well as the opportunity to help develop these leading titles.”

Earlier in the year, the Telegraph Group announced that a £150 million investment programme will result in 90 journalists losing their jobs from the Group’s flagship newspapers, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, the company announced today (see Telegraph Makes 90 Editorial Staff Redundant In Reshaping).

The organisational cuts are to be implemented to fund a £150 million investment in colour printing and increase in pagination, giving both papers an extra eight pages in colour.
