Telegraph Signs Hall Moore CHI For Direct Marketing

Telegraph The Telegraph Group has awarded its direct marketing business to Hall Moore CHI following a closely fought three-way pitch against Personal and Rapier.

The move completes the consolidation of the Telegraph‘s business into the Clemmow Hornby Inge group, which already includes CHI for the newspaper’s above-the-line advertising and Naked Inside for communications planning.

Explaining the importance of direct marketing in its overall strategy, Katie Vanneck, marketing director at the Telegraph Group, said: “Regular subscribers are the Gold Standard for our business. Through the Telegraph’s subscriptions scheme we have a direct and profitable relationship with our customers providing a unique and important competitive advantage.”

She added: “In appointing Hall Moore CHI we are able to consolidate our brand and marketing communications whilst taking our relationship with our most loyal and valuable customers to the next level of recognition and reward.”

Warren Moore, partner at Hall Moore CHI, said: “It’s very exciting to be working on such a great brand and with the new team, and we’re looking forward to launching a truly integrated subscription-marketing campaign.”

Amongst the first Telegraph marketing campaigns to employ Hall Moore CHI is its promotion of The Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football game. The yearly event was recently re-launched, with new branding and enhanced interactive elements designed to draw even more players than its previous successful runs.

Fronted by the newspaper’s columnist, broadcaster and footballing legend Alan Hansen, the competition will offer players more prizes, and new features for the 05/06 football season. In addition, Hansen will be playing his own team, Hansen’s Eleven, against all those who register to play (see Hansen To Front Telegraph Fantasy Football Drive).
