The Apprentice Loses Out To Britain’s Got Talent

Sir Alan Sugar Last night saw the final of The Apprentice on BBC One, and although it did well it was beaten by ITV1’s mega-hit, Britain’s Got Talent.

With both these shows performing admirably, it meant that Big Brother was squeezed out, managing a pitiful peak of just 1.8 million adults (an 8.1% share of viewing).

The final of The Apprentice, which saw Sir Alan pick Simon the Cambridge-educated doofus as the winner, drew a peak audience of 6.6 million adults (a 29.2% audience share) to its 9pm slot.

The show has been in the news a lot recently, with lovable cockney windbag Sir Alan saying that he thought this year’s final was the toughest ever.

Over on ITV1 at the same time, Britain’s Got Talent brought in a peak of 6.9 million adults, the majority of them no doubt transfixed by the strangely mature little girl throwing herself into a rousing performance of a tune from My Fair Lady.

The show, featuring Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden as judges, managed an average of 6.1 million adults across its hour and a half running time.
