Tickets are selling fast for MediaTel Group’s forthcoming ‘Future of Consumer Magazines’ seminar, which will see top industry figures debating the key issues facing the sector.
With recent announcements confirming the session’s panel line-up, the event is set to be both informative and lively. Marc Mendoza, Media Planning Group managing partner, was confirmed as the latest addition to the panel, joining David Hepworth, editorial director of Development Hell; Paul Keenan, chief executive of Emap Consumer Media; Stevie Spring, chief executive of Future plc, and media journalist, Ray Snoddy.
Shortly after the forthcoming July to December 2006 ABC data for consumer magazines is released (full coverage on NewsLine from 12 noon tomorrow), the UK’s leading online media intelligence company will turn its attention to this ever mutable sector.
As the magazine industry enters a year where ‘engagement’ looks set to be the buzzword, one theme likely to emerge from the debate is the possibility for implementation of a meatier reading research survey along the lines of the QRS.
With title closures and new launches regularly affecting the market, topics such as the market’s saturation, competition between supplements, the perceived threat from online and the birth of digital only mags will no doubt also be prominent in the session.
The BBC’s Torin Douglas will chair the event, which takes place at One Great George Street in London’s Westminster on 28 February 2007 between 9:30am – 11:30am.
