Trinity Mirror Profits Up

Trinity Mirror has announced that its pre-tax profits reached £203 million in 2007, following the disposal of titles in the south east and The Racing Post.

Its revenues for the year were £1.009 billion, compared with £1.073 billion in 2006.

Digital revenues at the company now represent 3.7% of total revenues and 6.7% of advertising revenues for its retained businesses.

Regional digital revenues were up 33.3% on 2006 following the launch of several companion websites to local titles.

Sly Bailey, Trinity Mirror chief executive, said: “In challenging trading conditions our focus and commitment to drive continuous improvements delivered a strong performance in 2007.

“Although we are cautious about trading in 2008, the Board anticipates a satisfactory performance for the year given the continued implementation of the Group’s strategy, ongoing focus on cost control and the Group’s resilient cash flows.”
