UBM Considering Sale Of NOP World

Publishing and media group, United Business Media (UBM) is reported to have appointed advisers to consider a sale of its market research firm, NOP World, valued at £250 million.

UBM said that investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Allen & Co will carry out the review, which will “examine a number of alternatives to maximise the value of NOP World for UBM shareholders, including developing NOP World further, expanding NOP World through strategic alliances or a sale.”

Earlier this month it was reported that UBM was considering offloading NOP World (see Possible Consortium Bid For ITV), with outgoing chief executive of UBM, Lord Hollick said to be determined to dispose of the political polling business before he relinquishes his position to David Levin in April(see United Business Media Announces New Chief Executive).
