UK Dot Com Adspend Set To Rise

According to a new report by Fletcher, “Online Advertising Grows Up”, by 2004 internet companies will contribute around 10% of the top 10,000 companies’ advertising spend in the UK, around £750 million.

Approximately half of this Net spending will go on TV, press and outdoor campaigns, as currently used by such companies as Shopsmart, lastminute and Jungle. By 2004, online advertising is expected to rise from £50 million in 1999 to £620 million, with over 50% of this spending coming from dot.coms.
