US Magazine Advertising Jumps 10% In January

US magazine advertising revenues continued their upward trend in January this year, rising by 10.4% year on year, according to the latest figures from the Publishers Information Bureau (PIB). However, whilst revenues were decidedly up, page volumes remained weaker, showing a decline of 0.3%.

“The data show the magazine industry holding its own against a strong January in 2003. Revenue increased and pages remained relatively flat, with the slight page growth for the top twelve ad categories offset by the remaining categories,” says Ellen Oppenheim, executive vice president of the Magazine Publishers of America.
