Myers Reports predicts that mobile commerce revenues in the US will reach $4.8 billion dollars by 2004, whilst mobile advertising will be valued at $2.6 billion by 2005. However, these are estimates are more conservative than a number of other forecasts, as shown.

Myers says that there are a number of obstacles preventing huge growth in mobile commerce and advertising. These include a lack of platform uniformity; a continued reliance on a two-way billings system and delays in technology to pinpoint callers’ locations.
