Judge John Deed The new series of Judge John Deed brought around six million adult viewers to BBC One last night, giving the channel a 25% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

Meanwhile, over on Channel 4, the latest goings on in the Celebrity Big Brother house lured 3.5 million on average, giving the broadcaster a 14.5% viewing share, whilst Soapstar Superstar on ITV1 managed 4.1 million (17.8%).

Around 3.3 million adults tuned in to the debut episode of the new series of Shameless, which aired after CBB. The return of the Gallaghers gave the channel a 17.7% viewing share at the time, whilst Five’s double bill of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation put up a good fight, with around 1.9 million adult viewers for each instalment of the programme.

Eastenders and Holby City proved their popularity once again, with the unfolding investigation into Pauline Fowler’s death luring 9.2 million (43.8%) and the hour-long hospital drama netting around 6.5 million (29%) for BBC One.

Overnight data is available each morning in mediatel.co.uk’s TV Database, with all BARB registered subscribers able to view reports for terrestrial networks, ITV2 and Sky One.
