VNU Could Acquire Rest Of NetRatings
VNU, the parent company of Nielsen Media Research, has announced that it is proposing to acquire the 39.5% stake in NetRatings that it does not already own.
In a statement, VNU said that its proposal represents an excellent opportunity for NetRatings’ stockholders to realize a fair price for their shares.
NetRatings has appointed a special committee of independent directors to evaluate the proposal, although there are no assurances that an agreement will result from the evaluation or negotiation of the proposal.
