Wavemaker’s Bowden adds product to global strategy role

Wavemaker’s global chief strategy officer Stuart Bowden has been given a wider role at the WPP agency in order to link the agency’s strong planning culture closer to its tools, technology and platforms.

As global chief strategy and product officer, Bowden is tasked with ensuring clear communication, continuity and free flowing provocation between the strategy department, where ideas are created, and product, where ideas are converted into growth for the agency’s clients.

In the last year Wavemaker has launched Maximise, which is claims to be the world’s first AI-powered multi-audience planning tool. Last month it became the first major media agency to integrate Amazon Advertising’s Overlapping Audiences API.

Toby Jenner, Wavemaker’s global CEO, said: “Wavemaker has an incredibly strong product development pedigree, and by combining that with our strategic planning excellence I believe we’ll be even better at addressing our clients’ needs.

“Stuart is one of our industry’s strongest strategic thinkers and a key contributor to Wavemaker’s recent success. I’m tremendously pleased that he’ll continue to play a key part in creating a bright future for us.”
