WPP is expected to announce third quarter revenues in excess of £1 billion, the first time ever the company has broken through the billion-pound barrier in a three-month period.
It is expected that Sorrell will cite the US market, which has grown for eight consecutive quarters, as the driving force behind his company’s upturn.
Half year revenues for the group jumped 6% to £2.03 billion, spurred by a signicant increase in advertising revenue, stimulated by the effects of Euro 2004, the Olympic Games and the US presidential elections (see Revenues At WPP Exceed Expectations To Reach £2 Billion).
