WPP Talent Officer Makes Jump To Ebay

The chief talent officer in the New York branch of Sir Martin Sorrell’s global advertising company WPP has resigned to take the top human resources position at online auction company eBay.

According to industry sources, Beth Axelrod resigned her position this week, bringing to an end a three year career with the London based advertising holding company. Axelrod is said to be guiding the search for her own replacement a date for her departure has not yet been confirmed.

Late last year WPP warned that uncertainty in the US economy could affect the company’s earnings in 2005 and 2006, with Martin Sorrell warning investors that earnings for the next two years could decrease by between 10% and 15%, depending on the state of the American economy (see Weak Dollar Could Force WPP Profits Down).
