WPP has announced that its third quarter revenues rose 4.9% to £1.48 billion, with revenues in constant currencies up 8.1%.
The group reported constant currency growth of 5% in the UK, compared with 3.7% in the first half, whilst North American revenues were up 8%, compared with 8.3% in the first half.
Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East grew revenues 13.8%.
In a statement, WPP said: “We continue to believe that 2008 will be a good year for the industry, better than 2007, reflecting the positive combined impact of the maxi-quadrennial events of the US presidential election, the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and, on a relatively more modest basis, of the European football championships.”
Net new business billings of £703 million were won during the third quarter. Net new business billings won in the first nine months of 2007 were $4.422 billion (£2.16 billion).
Last month, WPP acquired Schematic, the US design, development and technology company behind the recent revamp of ITV.com (see WPP Acquires US Digital Agency)
