ZenithOptimedia Lifts Trophy At MediaTel Sports Quiz

The Winning ZenithOptimedia Team Last night saw ZenithOptimedia romp to victory in the MediaTel Group Sports Quiz, claiming the trophy after a close fought battle with rival News International.

The quiz, which raised over £600 for charities, including the Meningitis Trust and Cancer Research UK, was well attended, with teams from News International, the Evening Standard, IDS, Brand Connection and SIRS all vying for the trophy.

However, it was ZenithOptimedia’s team, Pinot Noir and his Nuances of Toast, comprising Gareth Pugh, Pete Williams, Darren Burroughs, Iain Ogilvie and Seb Biggins which took the lead, securing victory over second-placed News International team, Opus Nil, by 11 points.

Opus’ team, Opus R.I.P., secured third place, while News International’s second team, Norfolk and Chance, lived up to their name, walking home with the wooden spoon after taking residence at the bottom of the scoreboard.

Reflecting on the ZenithOptimedia victory, Gareth Pugh said: “On behalf of all the team I’d like to say what a pleasure it was to be able to compete with, and beat, some of the premier sporting brains in the industry. The whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable, and hopefully much was done for good causes. I’m sure that News International and the Team Formerly Known as Opus will be extra keen to re-assert themselves next year; and I know that our squad is ready for any challenges that lay ahead.”

Last nights quiz follows a successful online predictor quiz run by MediaTel Group from November to May, won by Russell Budden of BMRB International.
