March saw big ratings for BBC One’s Ordinary Lies, coverage of the Six Nations rugby, a drama about the creator of Sherlock Holmes and historical drama Poldark.
February saw good ratings for rugby, Ant & Dec, this year’s BRITs award ceremony and an adaptation of JK Rowling’s latest novel.
As the Christmas and New Year holiday period drew to a close there was still time for BBC One to offer up a gem for viewers dreading the return to work, with the adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot.
Popular shows in December included Doctor Who, Call The Midwife and Strictly Come Dancing.
TV highlights from November included I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The X Factor and The Missing.
The Great British Bake Off managed to fend off all competitors this month by achieving by far and away the highest rating in October.
