The Times is to introduce a motoring supplement on Saturday, one week after the Daily Telegraph announced its plans to extend its motoring supplement. (Newsline 12/01). The new weekly broadsheet supplement will increase the Times’ motoring pagination from 3 to 12 pages.

US West announced full year results from the Baby Bell regional phone companies with a 55% jump in net earnings to $409m in the final quarter, helped by the flotation of TeleWest, its UK joint venture. TeleWest increased the number of cable subscribers by 42% to 320,000 and its telephone lines by 94% to 271,000.
Mary Archer is to resign from the board of Anglia Television, following months of controversy over Lord Archer and share purchases.
SelecTV, the independent television production company has reported pre-tax profits for the six months to September down 19% to £517,000. SelecTV has a 15% investment in Meridian Broadcasting.
