Granada Group has announced results for the year ending October 1 this morning with pre-tax profits up by 50.8% from £176m last year to £265.4m. Turnover was £2.097bn. The dividend also increased by 14% from 8.75p to 10p. The TV interests doubled, to £85m.

Preliminary trading in London and New York of UK Cable company TeleWest yesterday valued the company at £1.8bn. Shares were six times subscribed and have been priced at 182p. TeleWest is the first UK cable company to join the London Stock Exchange.
