Talks are still continuing between Y&R and GGT on the possible merger. Sources suggest that the two agencies will continue to operate separately, in order to avoid any possible clash of clients. However elements of the two agencies will merge, such as the media departments.
According to a report in today’s Standard, Tony O’Reilly has been snubbed by the European shareholders of the Independent, who say they will oppose his plans for board representation. The directors of the Independent meet today to discuss the proposals drawn up by O’Reilly, and the plans put forward by the MGN consortium.
