Granada’s takeover of LWT paid off financially in the 6-months to April, Granada have announced today, with pre-tax profits up by 50% to £154.5m. Granada television profits were £36.6m compared to £29.9m in the previous year and LWT’s profits were £35.3m.

The Daily Mail and General Trust media group has today announced results for the 6 months to April, with pre-tax profit up 60% to £38.3m from £24m before. Advertising growth in regional titles showed signs of slowing, warned the group, and increases in newsprint prices would also have an impact.
