CanWest Global Communications, a Canadian broadcasting group has said it will bid for the Channel 5 licence. It has a new investor in its consortium but no details will be available until the deadline for bids, May 2.
Eurosport, the pan-European satellite channel is claiming ad revenues for 1994 were up 50% on 1993; its projected increase for 1995 is 35% higher than 1994. MTV-Europe has signed an agreement with Ray-Ban to run its new ad campaign on MTV. The campaign, which comprises 100 spots will reach 31 million young people throughout Europe, claim MTV. Running from April 22, the campaign is Ray-Ban’s first venture onto MTV.
