The Data Protection Registrar has published new guidelines for the interpretation of the 1984 Data Protection Act. The interim revision reflects certain new developments, including charges to the method of registration and the forthcoming Data Protection Bill, which will implement the EU’s Data Protection Directive.

The UK Advertising Association has written to all 20 European Commissioners, asking them to ensure that the EC pursues infringement complaints relating to marketing and promotion issues.
