Richard Dunn resigned last night as chief executive of Thames Television. His departure was expected after the appointment of Greg Dyke as chairman of Pearson Television, Thames’ parent company.

Radio Times is launching a major marketing campaign over Easter, which includes a competition in conjunction with Classic FM giving listeners the opportunity to win a 10,000 cruise from Burma to Rangoon. Other campaigns include a radio campaign, a direct marketing campaign and a 16-page gardening supplement.

Reed Elsevier has today announced final results; pre-tax profits were up 16% on last year for the overall group. The UK section, which includes IPC Magazines, was up 12.4% year on year. Shares are up 26p today to 745p.

CIA has this morning released results; pre-tax profits were up 23.4% to £5.3 million compared to £4.28m last year. CIA’s share price rose by 3 pence this morning to 140p.
MAI has released interim results. Pre-tax profits in the media arm rose from £6m to £29m. This was helped by the acquisition of Anglia TV. However, MAI’s financial arm reported a fall in profits from £28m to £16m this time. The overall result was a 22% rise in pre-tax profit to £59 million.
