Following a competitive period of pitching, Arena Media has been appointed Royal Mail’s media business, while MC&C will handle media planning and buying for its MarketReach division.
Taking over from UM London, Arena Media has been hired to deliver improved ROI for Royal Mail Group services, with a strong focus on real-time marketing. The agency will handle planning and buying across traditional, social and digital platforms.
MC&C, a direct response media agency founded by Mike Colling, will deliver planning and buying for MarketReach.
The appointments come as Royal Mail, currently the third-largest media owner in the UK behind Google and ITV, looks to strengthen business relations and raise its profile with SMEs.
“Royal Mail Group services are more diverse than ever, so too are our consumers,” said Ben Rhodes, director of customer marketing at Royal Mail.
“The appointment of Arena Media and MC&C reflects our ambition to forge a closer connection with these audiences and to enhance the awareness of Royal Mail services as tools for business success.”
Henry Daglish, managing director at Arena Media, said: “Royal Mail is at a key moment in its evolution, and as an agency committed to being an agent of change for growth, we’re delighted to be working with them to help the brand change and grow.”
