New Metro app transforms print ads into animated creative

Metro has this week updated its mobile and tablet app to help improve user experience while offering advertisers more to play with.

The new design means every ad campaign can now be delivered to all mobile, tablet and desktop devices while print ads can be transformed into HTML5 animated creative to run in app.

The move seeks to help advertisers extend their campaigns beyond traditional press formats as simply as possible, and Metro will provide the service for free.

“Metro is delighted to be releasing an improved version of our digital editions today, and looks forward to users enjoying the rejuvenated and sleeker design,” said Martin Ashplant, digital director, Metro.

“We’re now providing a one-stop-shop for advertisers, something unique in the marketplace that no other newsbrands are doing. And following the huge success of our evening edition on tablet, it’s great to see it now become available on phone too.”

Across its full portfolio, Metro has 3.1 million print readers and 150,000 monthly digital edition users.
