BWB Marketing Launches Dream Text System
![]()
Mobile marketing group BWB has launched a new text messaging facility called dreamsms, to allow users to send unlimited text messages from their desk top PCs.
The new platform for advertisers is a response to the increasing popularity of SMS marketing. It hopes to make mass-marketed text messaging more accessible to smaller companies.
BWB’s managing director, Darryl Brooks, commented: “More and more companies were approaching us to perform SMS campaigns. Dreamsms allows users to send unlimited text messages to their client base from the comfort of their own offices.”

The systems additional functions include automatically personalising the text with the recipients name and profiling customers into relevant groups. According to BWB, SMS marketing could challenge the more traditional methods of customer contact and marketing.
SMS marketing, along with other newer forms of advertising such as interactive TV advertising (see Interactive Ad Scores On Sky), have become increasingly popular over the past year. As the advertising downturn continues to drain advertising budgets businesses are looking at cheaper, more innovative ways to get their message across.
In the past month alone Flytxt has launched an SMS campaign for Carling (see Flytxt Rolls Out On-Pack SMS Campaign for Carling) and Hachette Filipacchi has launched a new mobile marketing service across its portfolio of titles (see Hachette To Launch New SMS Marketing Service). Rival publisher, Emap, also created the new role of mobile business director in order to increase the take-up of SMS services across its entire media portfolio (see Emap To Boost Wireless Up-Take Across Media Portfolio).
However, a new survey from BMRB has found that 70% of mobile phone users find text message advertising too intrusive. The survey shows that those aged between 15 to 24 were the most positive about receiving SMS ads, in contrast 89% of 35 to 54 year branded them intrusive (see 70% of Mobile Phone Users Find SMS Ads Intrusive).
