Ulster Television has this morning announced an agreement with ITV Digital allowing the broadcast of ITV2 in Northern Ireland.
UTV2, UTV’s digital TV offering, has now been closed to allow ITV2 to begin broadcasting on the digital multiplex. It is anticipated that the closure of UTV2 will save UTV approximately £350,000 a year, ITV2 will begin broadcasting on Friday.
The agreement between Carlton, Granada and UTV may be extended to include the broadcast of ITV Sport on the digital platform in Northern Ireland.
