Classic FM Listeners Value Shopping Over The Internet
![]()
Classic FM listeners are quick to embrace new technology but value longer shopping hours over mobile phones and the internet, according to the latest wave of VIPer research.
The study shows that Classic FM listeners consider mobile phones and email to be time saving devices, with more than a third of respondents saying that email had positively affected their lives by giving them more free time.
The internet was found to be most popular among Classic FM’s “upmarket” audience and of those surveyed, 82% had access to the internet at home and regularly listened to the radio whilst online.
However, the research shows that longer shopping hours have made the most difference to the lives of Classic FM listeners, with over half of those questioned saying that late night shopping has given them more time in the day to do other activities.
Ruth Duncan, senior researcher at Classic FM, said: “The research shows that Classic FM listeners have embraced new technologies and innovations to help them balance the time pressures in their lives, but longer shopping hours have had the most impact.”
