Mediatel Connected’s popular whitepaper “The who, what, where, why and how of podcast listening” has returned with new data from its exclusive Video & Voice survey, run by YouGov.

Looking at podcast advertising, the survey explores how much attention is paid to ads in podcasts that are relevant to the podcasts’ content versus simply the environment they are in when listening. A significant correlation can be observed around content relevance.

The survey also investigated special offers which are placed around and within podcasts, showing some interesting age differentials around ease of accessing these offers, but also that around 50% have simply never tried to access any listed or mentioned special offers.
