Chrysalis Radio has promoted Sarah Pomroy to the role of co-funding director with responsibility for leading a team dedicated to attracting advertisers to the group’s three analogue networks.
Over the last few years the co-funding team has brought together a range of consumer brands and retailers and has worked on combining client spend to create tailored and cost-effective campaigns that encompass both on-air and off-air activity.
In the past twelve months the team has attracted leading motor brands, including Nissan and Jaguar, as well as drinks brands WKD and VK Vodka Kick.
Don Thomson, Chrysalis Radio’s commercial director, said: “Generating revenue from below the line budgets is becoming an increasingly important part of our business. Sarah and her team have built a highly successful business from scratch, and we are convinced there is much greater potential to come.”
Commenting on her promotion, Pomroy said: “Growing the co-funding department has over the years proved to be challenging, fun and extremely rewarding. We are now moving into a new phase, enjoying some fantastic results with existing clients, whilst also maintaining our focus on bringing new co-funding business to radio.”
Chrysalis Radio Sales recently announced plans to create a dedicated brand team to offer clients integrated sales and sponsorship opportunities across its London-based speech and news stations, LBC 97.3 FM and LBC News 1152 AM (see Chrysalis Launches LBC Brand Team For National Clients).
The latest figures from the RAB show that commercial radio saw adspend increase by 3.3% year on year to £144 million during the second quarter of 2003, as advertisers continued to flock to more cost-effective forms of marketing (see FMCG Brands Drive Growth In Commercial Radio Revenue).
