Megaposter To Launch New Giant Banners In Liverpool
![]()
Megaposter is launching three new giant banner sites in Liverpool in an attempt to capitalise on the increasing popularity of the city as a day trip designation.
The first two sites measure over 200 square metres and are located in Williamson Square and The Cavern Quarter. The third and largest of the sites measures 352 square metres and is situated on the main arterial road through the city.
Commenting on the launch, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing manager of Megaposter UK, said: “As a recognised European capital of culture, there is a massive buzz about Liverpool. Advertisers wanting to take advantage of this young urban audience have three new impactful ways of doing so.”
The UK giant banner sector has grown significantly over the past couple of years and is estimated to have reached £10 million in 2002, up from £350,000 in 1998. Research conducted last year by Megaposter showed that 71% of respondents would like to see more commercial banners and 59% of people perceived giant banners to be more effective than traditional media (see NewsLine Column: Are Giant Banners Worth Their Weight?).
The creative content of outdoor campaigns has always been key to their success and Adshel now claims to be able to provide clients with a quantifiable estimate of the extra value gained or lost by the quality of a campaign’s creative (see Adshel To Quantify Campaign Creative For Clients).
