JCDecaux is to launch a national 6-sheet campaign to promote the UIP’s forthcoming Wild Thornberrys movie.
The two-week campaign consists of 1,500 6-sheets as well as twenty ‘junlge fever’ sonic bus shelters, designed re-create the ‘magical jungle atmosphere’ featured in the film.
The sonic shelters, which will appear in London, Manchester and Nottingham, will transmit a soundtrack of tropical jungle noises including the swish of waterfalls, monkey calling, cheetahs growling and birds singing. The recording lasts for three minutes and will play from 9am to 6pm throughout the campaign.
Commenting on the initiative, Steve Hunt, media manager at UIP, said: “Sonic shelters mean we can give the audience on the street a great taster of the movie. The Wild Thornberrys is a U-certificate and has universal appeal. 6-sheets are the ideal medium to promote a film like this as they reach everyone, and the sonic element allows us to further bring the spirit of the film to our audience.”
The campaign was planned by Mediaedge:cia through Portland Outdoor, with creative prepared in-house by UIP.
JCDecaux recently secured the right to handle street furniture sales for the city of Blackpool. The deal will see JCDecaux supply 200 advertising panels and bus shelters in Blackpool city centre, along its famous sea-front and in its shopping and entertainment centre (see JCDecaux Secures Blackpool Street Furniture Deal).
