Flytxt Secures Electronic Arts For SMS Promotion

Flytxt has been appointed by Electronic Arts to launch two separate mobile marketing campaigns to promote its new Vendetta and Sims Superstar video games, which launch later this month.

The campaign to promote the Sims Superstar game will be supported by an advertorial campaign in Smash Hits magazine, which will encourage readers to enter their mobile number on the Sims website for the opportunity to win a day of ‘superstar pampering’.

Meanwhile, the promotion for the Vendetta game will see a series of marketing messages sent to an opt-in database taken from the Def Jam Vendetta website. Consumers who enter their mobile number on the website will receive a message prompting them to go and buy the game.

Earlier this year Flytxt was appointed to launch an SMS service for Popworld readers, in an attempt to build interactivity into the multi-platform brand (see Popworld Appoints Flytxt For SMS Marketing Drive).

The latest figures from the Mobile Data Association show that the text message phenomenon continued to prevail in May with 1.7 billion messages sent across the four UK GSM networks during the month (see Text Continues To Shine In May).
