TalkSPORT Secures Sure For Breakfast Ad Deal

TalkSPORT has secured Sure Sensitive For Men deodorant to support its No Nonsense sports breakfast.
The deal will promote Sure’s new range of deodorants on the station, with a special promotion inviting listeners to get in touch with the “sensitive side” of famous sports stars. Consumers will be given clues to identify a mystery male sports star in order to win a television set.
The deodorant will also be promoted in ad spots within the show in a deal negotiated by Matt Wilson from talkSPORT’s sales house, Impact, Initiative Media and Sure’s PR agency, Cairns & Associates.
Commenting on the deal, Wilson says: “Sure knows that more than 50% of UK men say they have sensitive skin – creating the demand for an effective antiperspirant deodorant designed for men who don’t want to worry about underarm discomfort. With talkSPORT, they can reach that demo to let them know this new product is out there and is perfect for them.”
The latest figures from the Radio Advertising Bureau show that sponsorship and promotions continue to be one of the fastest growing sectors of radio advertising, with revenue increasing 14.7% to £71.2 million during 2002 (see Commercial Radio Boosted By Sponsorship And Promotions).
