Flytxt Reveals Success Of Chrysalis Radio’s Text Club
![]()
Flytxt has revealed that a series of mobile marketing campaigns have helped drive subscribers to Chrysalis Radio’s text clubs at a rate of over 10,000 a month.
The wireless marketing group is to promote the new text systems, which launched in May, with a host of summer promotions involving SMS activity across the Heart and Galaxy branded stations.
The summer promotions will feature brands including Wella Shockwaves, Mazda and Odeon and will be supported by a series of on-air ad campaigns and competitions designed to build Chrysalis Radio’s text databases.
The initiative will see Heart 100.7 listeners encouraged to enter an SMS competition to win tickets to a Bon Jovi concert. They will also be prompted to subscribe to the Heart Text Club for mobile marketing purposes.
Meanwhile, Galaxy 102 listeners will be encouraged to vote on solutions to various “dilemmas” in order to win a cash prize. Participants will receive a bounce-back message prompting them to tune into the station to hear the results. Listeners to dance and R&B station will also have the chance to win free Odeon cinema tickets and winners will receive a unique SMS code, which they can use to redeem their prize.
In addition, Galaxy 102 will run a summer SMS promotion to win holidays to Ibiza in association with Wella Shockwaves, which will receive sponsorship credits on the station. Text Maniac Club subscribers will also be offered the opportunity to sign up to receive information on Wella products.
The Heart Texters Club, which launched in November 2002 across London’s Heart 106.2 and 100.7 Heart FM in the West Midlands, now has more than 15,000 registered users, while the Galaxy Network’s Text Maniac Club has 50,000 listener mobile numbers. Chrysalis and Flytxt hope to extend these databases through viral promotions, competitions and increased wireless marketing activity (see Chrysalis Secures Flytxt For Wireless Partnership).
