Maiden Secures Sony And Orange For Transvision Promotion

Maiden Outdoor has secured a deal that will see Sony Ericsson and Orange promote their new photo-messaging phones across its network of Transvision advertising screens at major London railway stations.

The promotion will include photographing commuters on station platforms and then showing the pictures on the screens at stations across the capital.

The campaign, which is part of a larger sampling event to promote Sony Ericsson’s new T610 handset and Orange’s wap services, will run for five weeks from the end of July. The activity will run across London’s busiest mainline stations, including Waterloo, Victoria, Euston, Liverpool Street and Charing Cross.

The promotion, which is intended to encourage consumers to switch to photo-messaging networks, is part of a larger through-the-line campaign, entitled ‘Find out fast’, created to show how Orange’s new wap services can be accessed quickly and easily.

The initiative will also include London underground, national rail and national cinema posters, plus a 30-second TV ad, which will air on the Transvision network over the five week period.

A recent study by Continental Research revealed that around 20% of mobile phone users will soon have handsets capable of receiving multi-media messages (see Multi-Media Messaging Shows Potential For Advertisers).
