Meet the 2025 Media Minds: Bicycle

As the quarter-final stage of the 2025 Media Mind tournament approaches, The Media Leader is shining a spotlight on some of the brightest quiz contenders.
These are industry experts whose sharp knowledge has propelled their agencies to the knockout rounds.
Introducing Josh Andrews, senior account manager at Bicycle. Andrews has been key to his team making it this far. But what motivates him?
Bicycle will compete against EssenceMediacom on 25 September.
How did you get into the advertising industry?
I used to work client side, but went agency side a couple of years ago looking for some variety and energy.
What is your favourite medium and why?
Print — it’s physical, you get exactly what you pay for and I shamelessly love getting the free mags in the post.
Favourite media brand?
TikTok.
What’s is your favourite ad campaign?
Snickers “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry”. I still quote “Zip it, Shrimpy” from the Joan Collins version 13 years later.
Biggest change in the media industry over the next five years?
Right now, the less healthy foods regulation is massively impacting all of our food clients. Longer term, it’s definitely AI and how it can automate planning and buying.
You want to impress a new client. Which restaurant do you take them to?
Bouchon Racine in Farringdon — but it’s impossible to get even a lunch booking. I’ve been trying!
What is your favourite fashion brand and why?
Uniqlo, which makes up most of my wardrobe.
What is your favourite film and why?
The Devil Wears Prada — a 2000s classic.
What are you listening to, watching or reading at the moment?
Toxic Town on Netflix.
Favourite local café or bar?
Arthur’s Cafe in Kensal Rise — old-school red gingham tablecloths and the best Sunday fry-up.
Finally, what has been your personal highlight of Media Mind to date?
Our team making a miraculous comeback in the first round — from last at the halfway point to first by the end (the music clues may have helped).
