UBC Media Sees Revenue Boost Of 60%

UBC Media Group (UBC) today announced that total revenues have more than doubled year-on-year and are expected to be up by 60% from last year.

The pre-close trading statement for the commercial radio broadcasting company and independent radio programme producer, said that the board was pleased that its ambitious plans for the business remain on track and the group continues to make good progress.

The group showed strong growth in radio advertising towards the second half of the year thanks to the launch last year of the AA Roadwatch traffic service and travel news for commercial radio. This has enabled UBC to recover the launch start-up costs and from the fall in national advertising experienced at the start of the financial year.

UBC’s Classic Gold Digital network of stations continues to perform strongly the trading statement said. Recently reported listening figures for the digital network showed an increase of 25%.

The statement added that all other company divisions are trading in line with expectations.

Year end results will be announced on the 21st June 2004.
