Blipverts, 5-second adverts played after the news headlines and before the main news content, will run exclusively on Chrysalis Radio’s Galaxy Manchester, the first time the format has been used outside of London and on the Galaxy network.
The blips, which will be supported by 30-second first-in-break airtime ads, have been created by Galaxy Radio and MediaVest Leeds in an exclusive promotional radio package for regional car supermarket, The Car People.
The blipvert commercials, tested originally on London talk station LBC, are designed to achieve maximum brand standout by disrupting the normal sequence of programming and running at a time when listener attention is at its highest.
Jonathan Allbones, sales and marketing director for The Car People, said: “We are very excited to be the first to trial the blipvert format outside of London. The blipverts offer The Car People a fresh approach to communicating with the consumer. They also provide substantial cut through and show an exciting, innovative attitude to radio planning.”
Kiron Wood at Chrysalis Radio added: “Blipverts are an ideal platform for brands that want to achieve standout by using high impact solus advertising to engage with audiences when they are at their most alert. This is such an exciting new format and we’re very pleased The Car People are amongst the first to use it.”
