The first betting/gaming sponsorship of television has just been announced, following the relaxation of rules by the heritage department and the ITC in March this year.
Vernons Pools is to sponsor the next series of Wish You Were Here…?, the ITV travel show. For the last two years Barclaycard has sponsored the programme. The new series begins on Monday, 6 December and runs until April 1994.
ITV has also confirmed that Thomas Cook has renewed its sponsorship of the back up information of the programme.
