JCDecaux Wins Glasgow Contract

JCDecaux Logo Glasgow City Council has awarded the city’s large format billboard contract to JCDecaux. The contract covers 80 locations in the city and marks the first time Glasgow City Council has put their entire large format estate out to tender.

Under the contract, JCDecaux will develop new billboard locations and upgrade existing billboard sites that were previously managed by several outdoor companies.

Billboards to be installed will include Première 400s, Première 200s and scrolling billboards as well as poster formats new to Glasgow such as the Première 450.

Roddy MacPhedran, senior property manager at Glasgow City Council, said: “We are looking forward to working with JCDecaux on this substantial project. Their ability to be innovative in outdoor will bring greater quality and a modern continuity across the city’s advertising locations. There are many new and exciting opportunities to explore with this portfolio and we look forward to seeing these brought to fruition.”

Jeremy Male, CEO UK and Northern Europe, JCDecaux, said: “We have worked in partnership with Glasgow City Council for many years and are delighted to have secured this exciting new contract.

“The combination of architecturally designed sites and innovative formats will enhance the visual environment and play a part in shaping the city’s image for residents and visitors.”

The billboard locations include city centre locations such as George Square, Cathcart Road and Crown Street and major routes in and out of the city including the Clyde Expressway and Springburn Road.

The Glasgow billboard contract win follows the recent announcement of street furniture contract awards in the London boroughs of Harrow and Hammersmith & Fulham, a 6-sheet contract with Reigate and Banstead council in Surrey and in 2006 the street furniture contract for Newport in Wales.
