Week Long Drama Boosts BBC One

Five Days BBC One’s new week long drama, Five Days, was watched by almost two million more adult viewers than Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother last night, taking a 25.5% audience share in the 9pm to 10pm timeslot.

5.8 million adults tuned in to the 24-style action, compared to 6.4 million for the programme’s debut on Tuesday night, whilst just over four million saw housemates nominating for Friday’s eviction, giving Channel 4 a 17.8% viewing share.

Earlier on the channel, 3.9 million adults saw Kirsty and Phil’s attempts at finding a young couple their dream property in the new series of Relocation, Relocation (17.2%), whilst ITV1’s The Bill lured 5.5 million (24.3%).

Also on ITV1, The Bourne Supremacy, was watched by an average of 3.3 million adults (15%) before the ITV News, with around 2.2 million tuning in to catch the end of the film (21.5%). Earlier, Coronation Street, the most watched programme in Britain, kept its viewing figures at around the 10 million mark, giving ITV1 a 46.7% viewing share at the time.
