An average of almost 4.7 million adults tuned in to see Sir Alan Sugar bellow his infamous catch phrase last night, giving BBC One a 21.4% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.
The Apprentice hopeful Gerri Blackwood was booted off the show after the girls’ kissogram scheme raised just £265.04, giving Da Boss the perfect excuse to say: “You’re fired”.
Over on ITV1, Robson Green’s latest hilarious escapades in City Lights drew almost 4.4 million adult viewers on average, giving the channel a 20% share at the time. This was, however, down from last week’s show, which netted an average audience of 5.1 million (see City Lights Triumphs Over The Apprentice).
Grand Designs continued to perform well for Channel 4, with almost 3.4 million (15.5%) choosing to spend time with the affable Kevin McCloud as he followed a couple creating an Art Deco sensation in Surrey.
C4 also saw success with the start of a new series of Property Ladder, on between 8pm and 9pm. More than 2.7 million adults on average welcomed the return of the husky-toned Sarah Beeny as she attempted to steer two couples in the right direction with their bold property investments.
Five’s biggest hit came from the 2001 film Legally Blonde, with almost 1.3 million adults lured by the goofy shenanigans of Reese Witherspoon and pals.
