Midsomer Murders Kills Off The Opposition

ITV1’s Midsomer Murders fought off the competition last night, pulling in more than 6.5 million peak viewers with an average 26% audience share between 8pm and 10pm.

BBC One’s Britain from Above managed to gain a respectable 5.1 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm, while Channel 4’s Big Brother picked up nearly 3 million at the same time.

However, Big Brother stole the show on Friday evening, attracting 3.7 million peak viewers to the first part of the all-important eviction night beween 9pm and 10pm.

More than 3.2 million peak viewers tuned in to see Dale leave the house in the second part, between 10.30pm and 11pm.

Meanwhile, ITV1’s Agatha Christie’s Poirot picked up a 17% audience share with 3.3 million average viewers between 9pm and 10.45pm.

BBC One peaked on Saturday evening, impressively topping the ratings with all its programmes from 6.15pm to 11.30pm, with highlights such as the Last Choir Standing and Casualty.
