BSkyB Appoints New Brand Marketing Director

Sky BSkyB has appointed Andy Brent as the new group brand marketing director, following a six-month search since Matthew Anderson’s departure.

Brent will join Sky on October 1 and report directly to the company’s chief executive, Jeremy Darroch.

He will be responsible for brand marketing across Sky’s range of home entertainment services, including its ‘See Speak Surf’ and Sky+ campaigns and the launch of its ‘Believe in better’ framework.

Darroch said: “The Sky brand is a critical factor in our growth. Its strength has allowed us to reach out to new customers and to enter new product categories, as we see a substantial opportunity for further growth.”

Brent’s last senior marketing post was at Alliance Boots as group brands director – he worked his way up since joining in 2005.

Previously, Brent was the chief marketing officer at Burger King International, having started his marketing career with a 13-year stint at Proctor & Gamble.

Darroch added: “Andy is a talented and experience marketer who brings to Sky a wealth of expertise in consumer businesses. Together with the strength of our existing marketing teams, he will lead the brand into the next phase of its development as we reach out and engage new audiences.”
