Ex-Chrysalis Chief Joins Internet Radio Firm

Reciva Logo Phil Riley, former chief executive of Chrysalis Radio, has been appointed chairman of internet radio maker Reciva.

The appointment marks Riley’s return to radio after he left Chrysalis last summer when the group’s radio division was sold to Global Radio for £170 million (see Riley Quits Chrysalis Following Global Sale).

Reciva has so far provided the technology behind about 70 different makes of wi-fi and 3G-delivered internet radio receivers, and licensed out production of the sets to around 80 factories.

Riley said: “This is my first step back into corporate life since the successful sale of Chrysalis Radio last year – and I’m thrilled to be with Reciva, which has positioned itself as the leading technology provider in the rapidly expanding internet radio market.

“‘Connected’ radios will define the future of audio broadcasting, so it’s great to be working with the market leader at such an early stage.”

Ben Terrell, Reciva CEO, said: “Phil is an acknowledged leader in the UK radio industry, and it’s a testament to the technology and people within Reciva that he has agreed to join us as Chairman.

“His business and broadcasting skills will ensure Reciva maximizes its market leading position as the Internet radio industry develops.”
